1000 words?

I think I could draw a typewriter every single day, and find life enjoyable for ever more. Are they not beautiful? Still, I said something similar after my first pancake on Tuesday, and by the time I'd struggled through my third, I was losing the will to live.
I still like pancakes. I never learn my lessons. Tomorrow I will draw another typewriter, perhaps.

  1. Oh, this is wonderful! I love old typewriters (I wish I had one)! The drawing is great (what kind of markers did you use? Copics?), I can almost hear it go "tac tuc tic tic"... :)

  3. lovely typewriter.... typewriters always look like the could ooze out poetry and crazy imaginings better than a computer ever could... not to mention the beat and percussive sounds of hitting the keys is more musical than computer keys. Beautiful drawing :)

and I agree about pancakes... they always seem like a lovely idea on the first one, but by the second or third it's as though I've eaten a ball of leaden glue..... but by next weekend I always seem to forget that problem and make them anyway!

  9. I never felt affection for a typewriter before but now I will never look at one the same again, after seeing your beautiful, expressive drawing! I too am wondering what medium you used on this one.

  10. Now THERE'S some pieces and parts! What a beauty. It's not often that a product of the industrial revolution evokes such an artistic yearning in people.

  11. hey, thanks everybody! These comments just make my day! In answer to the question about the media- it's a mix of marker pens (letraset/ copics/ primacolor) and fineliners (micron). Plus the occasional felt-tip from the beloved collection of my youngest years :)
